Driven to make a positive contribution to the public discourse on global warming, SJI worked with John Cook, a prominent awareness advocate, in creating theconsensusproject.com. John was leading a groundbreaking research study—the largest of its kind—quantifying the 97% level of agreement among published papers on global warming, in order to battle public confusion on the issue.

WEBSITE
Together, we developed a public communication initiative, The Consensus Project, for which SJI created the identity, website, and social media presence. The goal of the website, and the corresponding social media campaign, was to raise awareness of the scientific consensus that global warming is real, and is being caused by human activity. View Site
SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN
For the corresponding social media campaign, we created a series of visually compelling and easily understandable infographics that were rolled out across several weeks. Posts were coordinated with related facebook and twitter pages to reach a wider audience and reach as many people as possible.

President Obama’s TWEET
The research paper and website have since gained worldwide media coverage, and been tweeted about by President Barack Obama, and led to additional related projects for the United Nations. Please visit theconsensusproject.com and help spread the word on this important topic.
SJI was an absolute pleasure to work with in the development of The Consensus Project. Their visualizations of the science of climate change were eye-catching, clear and professional. Our efforts to communicate the scientific consensus on climate change led to the 97% consensus being repeated by President Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry and many other public figures and media outlets. SJI played a vital part in achieving these amazing outcomes.
