A modern rebrand takes center stage.

The Alliance for Women in Media (AWM) connects, recognizes, and inspires women across the media industry. SJI refreshed their identity system to give the brand a modern, powerful, and dynamic new edge.

CHALLENGE
Update AWM’s existing identity system to create a strong, modern, and recognizable brand while drawing a clear connection to the organization’s flagship event — The Gracies Awards.

INSIGHT
The refreshed identity needed to embody AWM’s core attributes of strength, innovation, connection, and advancement while reflecting feminine qualities — without appearing soft or stereotypical. It also needed to appeal to modern tastes in a way that remains timeless.

APPROACH
As AWM looks to transition toward using its acronym exclusively, we designed a mark that works both with the full company name and as a standalone icon. This approach allows for a flexible evolution over time.

To reinforce the connection between AWM and The Gracies Awards, we incorporated the recognizable Gracies swoop into the new logo, creating an immediate visual link between the two brands.

SETTING THE TONE
We infused AWM’s new brand identity with a vibrant and unexpected color palette. The evergreen foundation is complemented by a bold acid-green accent, which is replaced with elegant metallic gold for The Gracies’ 50th Anniversary.

THE GRACIES SWOOP
The Gracies Awards, AWM’s most prestigious and recognizable event, played a key role in the rebrand. Integrating the Gracies swoop into the new AWM logo ensures a cohesive and connected brand presence.
