For your consideration: an iconic brand

For the 2023 Emmy season, we were asked by Disney Branded Television to create a striking, engaging, flexible For Your Consideration campaign that would bring together a wide range of key art in a memorable way. Our creative solution used the Disney+ logo and color palette as a launching point, expanding the brand’s visual language in a distinct way that allowed each title to shine across a massive expanse of digital, print, and out-of-home tactics

CHALLENGE
Let the spirit of each promoted title shine in an overarching For Your Consideration campaign that unites their different artwork through a Disney-branded design aesthetic.

INSIGHTS
We needed to design a flexible framework that would work across varying tactics—and accommodate a variety of key art styles—while leveraging the Disney+ brand.

APPROACH
Using the Disney+ logo and color palette as a launching point, we created a colorful arched gradient that allowed individual key artwork to be unified under a uniquely new—yet instantly recognizable—design system. Individual titles were brought to life across an assortment of ads, letting each show’s artwork and personality inform our creative decisions while staying true to the brand and voice.

DIGITAL
Diverse digital initiatives were implemented, ranging from website roadblocks to skins on industry-leading websites like Deadline and Variety. Tailored email blasts were sent to individual trade unions, ensuring the content resonated with each recipient. This personalized approach facilitated voters’ access to highlighted titles and promoted talent for award nominations. For voters and entertainment professionals, we created digital invitations to screening events at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles.

PRINT
Print ads were tailored for publications like Variety, Vanity Fair, and SAG-AFTRA, seamlessly incorporating critical acclaim into each. Additionally, a series of ads were designed for a special DBT Deadline/Awardsline mini magazine.

F-Y-SING
An interactive postcard mailer was designed to spotlight the brand’s musical programming, complete with a unique code enabling voters to access exclusive screeners.

OUT-OF-HOME
The outreach strategy expanded to encompass out-of-home approaches in key locations within the LA market, such as Soho House and local shopping centers.
