The series and films span the wide range of subjects National Geographic is known for: from cutting-edge discovery and adventure series, to documentaries dealing with contemporary issues like COVID-19 and climate change, to historical documentaries on WWII and the Titanic. Building a world of creative for Nat Geo on D+
SJI has built a wealth of experience developing key art spanning back more than 25 years. So when Nat Geo launched on Disney+, requiring new key art and platform assets for hundreds of their programs, our expertise made us the ideal partners for the project. Since then we’ve cultivated a strong creative relationship, developing over 10,000 art assets used in advertising campaigns and across mobile, desktop, and connected TV interfaces, and effectively linking Disney+ audiences to the diverse universe of Nat Geo.
Create new key art and platform assets for hundreds of Nat Geo titles that would effectively captivate audiences across a host of Disney+ screens and formats.
To quickly grab viewers’ attention in a crowded user interface, designs needed to be immediately bold, clean, and communicative while embracing the awe-inspiring wonder at the heart of the Nat Geo brand.
We developed a suite of platform assets for each show based on striking, iconic visuals and concepts. New title treatments were designed for each, which, similarly to the platform artwork assets, needed to be easily understood across a range of sizes and uses. Special consideration was paid to how the varying assets for each show would work together, giving audiences a greater impression of each title while appealing to them in different ways.
