Logo | Branding
We developed a new brand identity for the Kids’ Book Choice Awards, the only national book awards program where kids select the winner.
CHALLENGE
The awards, previously named Children’s & Teen Choice Book Awards, have been produced annually by The Children’s Book Council since 2008. It was time for a name and logo refresh.
INSIGHT
It was important that the new creative put an emphasis on kids’ participation in voting for the winners while also appealing to a wider audience of parents, educators, and program sponsors.
APPROACH
To reinforce the concept of kids’ voices being heard through the Awards, we designed a unique talk bubble framework for the new mark. The energetic logo, made to appeal to younger and older book fans alike, became the basis for an entire branding framework promoting the event, its categories, and the books nominated for awards.
EXECUTION
After we developed the logo, the client was so excited about the new look and feel that we were asked to develop an additional brand identity for Every Child a Reader, the parent organization behind the Kids’ Book Choice Awards. You can learn more about the program via the Every Child a Reader website.
“Working with SJI was a dream! From the beginning they fully embraced and understood our goals for a long standing program that needed to change with the times. They brought so many ideas to the table, weighing in on items beyond the scope of work, and were an absolute pleasure to work with. The end result has taken our awards to a whole new level, both visually and as a program. Work with SJI. You will not be disappointed!”
